Staff Report
PIERCETON — A Mentone man was arrested after hitting and biting a pregnant woman.
Daniel Craig Holbrook, 25, 3972 S. CR 950W, Mentone, is charged with domestic battery to a pregnant woman, a level 5 felony; and two counts of domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 15, a Pierceton Police officer responded to a domestic abuse situation. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer noticed a parked vehicle with two people inside, one of which was Holbrook.
According to court documents, Holbrook admitted to being involved in a physical argument that turned aggressive with a pregnant woman. The officer also noticed Holbrook was covered in what appeared to be pizza sauce.
The officer then spoke with the woman, who was visibly trembling and crying. She also had a black eye. The woman told the officer that Holbrook became angry during an argument and threw pizza at her. When asked about her black eye, the woman said she was hit by Holbrook on Jan. 12. On that same day, Holbrook allegedly used a flashlight to destroy the windshield of the woman’s vehicle.
The woman also showed the officer bruising on her arm from being bitten by Holbrook, which also occurred on Jan. 12.
Holbrook is currently released on bond for dealing methamphetamine and two instances of methamphetamine possession.
He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15.
