UPDATE: Warsaw Fugitive Captured In Fort Wayne
Christopher Clapp, the man wanted on several felony warrants from at least three states and in Warsaw, has been captured.
Warsaw Police Lt. Kip Shuter confirmed that Clapp, 30, was arrested in Fort Wayne early this afternoon after Warsaw detectives received a tip from a Fort Wayne business.
Police say Clapp submitted an application for employment where an employee of the business read media accounts that Clapp was being sought and contacted Warsaw detectives. Fort Wayne based Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive officers descended on the address that Clapp put on his application, which turned out to be the Travel Inn in Fort Wayne. After a short period of surveillance, they located Clapp and took him into custody, without incident.
Two felony fraud charges have been filed against Clapp in Warsaw (see related story), and he is also wanted on two felony warrants from Mansfield, Ohio, for theft and aggravated assault; and one for felony theft out of Missoula County, Montana.
