Angela J. Baker
Angela J. Baker, 52, Sidney, died peacefully in her sleep at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021.
She was born May 27, 1968, in Wabash, a daughter of Larry and Evaline (Owens) Spangle. She completed elementary school in Wabash and then attended Wawasee High School. Later she completed her GED and earned an associate’s degree in accounting.
On July 22, 1988, she married Shawn Eugene Baker. They made their first home in Mentone, moving to their home in rural Claypool about ten years ago. Shawn died Oct. 25, 2020.
A full-time homemaker raising the couple’s two children, she also was a self-employed accountant. She had worked as a church office administrator.
A talented baker, she made delectable cakes, pies, and muffins. She collected purses and always made sure her shoe and purse matched. She liked to sew and watch old black and white movies. Loving animals, her dog Benny was the “apple of her eye.” She was also partial to her cats, Hogan, Angel, and Whisper.
She is survived by a son, Christopher (Rachael Gick) Baker of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Heather A. (Matthew Harris) Baker of Warsaw; grandchildren: Emma N. Gick-Baker, Cincinnati, Ohio; Jayce M. Harris, Ayden J. Harris, and Ethyn S. Harris, all of Warsaw; her mother, Evaline (Ken Bisel) Spangle of Columbia City; sisters, Deborah L. (Paul) Turner of New Ross, and Brenda K. (Jason) Tosi of Lowber, Penn.; in-laws, Larry and Mary Baker of Pierceton; and several nieces and nephews.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her father, Larry Spangle.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Burial will take place at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake. Arrangements are entrusted to Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.
