SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Public Library is celebrating National Library Week.

National Library Week is a time to appreciate the things your library can do for you. The Syracuse Library staff wants to say they are extra glad to see patrons during National Library week with daily drawings and other rewards.

April 5-10 is also spring break for Wawasee Community Schools. The children’s department has different activities during the week starting with messy Monday crafts, followed by play dough, board games, flowers and Lego day. Spend as much or as little time with spring break activities.

The library wants to introduce everyone to the Friends of the Library group. Find out what the Friends do for libraries and the activities the Syracuse group is doing for the library in a Zoom meeting. Come Into The Library

The Board of Directors has instructed the staff and all visitors in the building to continue to wear a mask until it can be safe for everyone. In-person programs such as story times, Dungeons and Dragons, teen gaming and The Workshop are meeting through the month. Activities for Earth Day being outdoors will be in-person. However, the online book club will probably continue so that people who are still leery of getting together or have a stressful schedule can be part of a book group.
