Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, West CR 400N east of North CR 150W, Warsaw. Driver: Kyle R. Taylor, 34, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Taylor was traveling westbound on CR 400N east of CR 150W, Warsaw, when a deer struck his vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 10:57 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, West CR 700S east of South CR 600W, Claypool. Driver: Amber L. Meyer, 30, 18th Road, Tippecanoe. Meyer was traveling eastbound on CR 700S east of CR 600W, Claypool. Her vehicle left the north side of the roadway and hit a pole. She sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The Kosciusko County coroner will be running toxicology on Meyer. Damage: More than $100,000.
- 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, West Woodland Hills Drive South and South Woodland Hills Drive East, Warsaw. Driver: Corinna Mickelson, 56, South Woodland Hills Drive East, Warsaw. Mickelson was traveling eastbound on Woodland Hills Drive South, Warsaw. The road makes a 90-degree curve to the north and turns into Woodland Hills Drive East. Her vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway making the turn and struck a sign and tree. She said she didn’t remember the collision and believed she fainted. It’s happened before. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 6:37 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, South CR 275E and East CR 225S, Warsaw. Drivers: Alyssa L. Hurley, 19, South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw, and Karter L. Benedict, 28, East CR 1300N, North Manchester. Hurley was traveling eastbound on CR 225S and came to the intersection of CR 275E, Warsaw. She stopped at the stop sign and proceeded to turn left onto CR 275E. She didn’t see Benedict’s vehicle traveling northbound on CR 275E, and their vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 29, West CR 1350N and North CR 700W, Nappanee. Drivers: Joelle R. Prochno, 16, West CR 1350N, Nappanee, and Shae M. Manges, 38, West Lincoln Street, Nappanee. Prochno was traveling eastbound on CR 1350N in the area of CR 700W, Nappanee. She began to turn left onto CR 700W and didn’t see Manges’ vehicle eastbound on CR 1350N. Their vehicles collided. Prochno’s vehicle went into a ditch, and Manges’ vehicle hit a utility pole and went into a ditch. Prochno complained of wrist and leg pain and Manges complained of neck and arm pain. Both were taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 3611 Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Heather D. Schuller, 46, South CR 275E, Warsaw, and Maryann Oreilly, 28, Elm Avenue, Hammond. Schuller failed to see Oreilly’s vehicle behind her as she was backing up to get out of the drive-thru line. Her vehicle backed into Oreilly’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 4:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, Anchorage Road east of Kimal Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Colton M. McMahan, 23, Rattington Circle, Warsaw, and Billy T. Hughes, 37, Washington Street, Rochester. McMahan was traveling eastbound behind Hughes’ vehicle on Anchorage Road from North Detroit Street. Hughes signaled he was turning left into the Wong’s Restaurant parking lot. McMahan didn’t see him signal. He braked, but his vehicle hit Hughes’. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 376 Enterprise Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Matthew G. Sasso, 30, West Wildflower Court, Warsaw, and Jezreel J. McLean, 24, North Morgan Street D, Mentone. Sasso said a van obstructed his view next to him and he didn’t see McLean’s vehicle until it was too late. He was pulling out of his parking spot when his vehicle hit McLean’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1979 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Driver: Sally A. Johnson, 61, West CR 800S, Claypool. Johnson was traveling southbound to leave the drive-thru area at Jimmy John’s, 1979 N. Detroit St. Warsaw, from the parking spaces behind the building. As she was attempting to turn left to head eastbound, she swung out toward the right to give herself more turning clearance. Her vehicle hit a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 9:21 p.m. Monday, March 29, North Harrison Street, near Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Keara D. Zuniga, 20, East Clark Street, Warsaw, and James D. Salyer, 54, EMS C31 Lane, Warsaw. Zuniga pulled out in front of Salyer’s vehicle as he was traveling south on North Harrison Street. Damage up to $5,000.
