WARSAW — The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce recently partnered with local healthcare professionals and community members to create a testimonial video about the COVID-19 vaccine.
The release comes at a time when demand for the vaccine is slowing, and officials say that that could impede the ability to read herd immunity.
In Kosciusko County, more than 18,000 people are fully vaccinated, but with 79,000 residents, officials would probably like to see far more people still get the shots.
Well-known community members who make an appearance in the video include Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer, Warsaw Community Schools’ Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert and Ivy Tech Warsaw Vice-Chancellor Allyn Decker.
In one segment, a doctor said he had admitted numerous people to be treated for COVID-19, but none for the vaccine.
“Conversations about vaccines are challenging,” reads the video’s description. “There is a high volume of information out there about the COVID-19 vaccine and it can be hard to know who to trust and what information is accurate. Recently, Kosciusko County health care professionals shared their thoughts on the vaccine to help you make the best decision for you and your family.”
