Lady Trojans Take The Cake At HNACs

KNOX – Triton used a record performance from Makenna May to help the team capture the fifth annual Hoosier North Athletic Conference Girls Track Championship team title.
May cleared 9-0 in the pole vault to set Triton’s school record, which also was good enough to win the event. May also came through with a title in the 300 hurdles with a 52.91 stop. May’s day also had a second place finish in the 100 hurdles at 18.00.
Addyson Viers also captured a pair of HNAC titles in throws, going 94-5 in discus and 36-3 in shot put.
Anela Hill and Jocelynn Faulkner contributed a pair of runner-up results, Hill a 53.26 in the 300 hurdles and a high jump of 4-8. Faulkner ran the mile in 5:55.11 and the two-mile in 12:54.13. Jaela Faulkner added an 8-0 in pole vault to only trail May in the event.
Jocelynn Faulkner added thirds in the 800 and long jump, Hill a third in the 100 hurdles and Abbey Viers a third in shot put.
Triton scored 136 points to clip LaVille’s 131 and Winamac’s 108 atop the team standings.
The HNAC boys will compete Thursday evening.
