Wawasee 3, Whitko 2
In the regular season finale for the Lady Warriors (7-8), a second set tiebreaker made the difference in a team win at Whitko.
After winning the first set 6-2, Allison Clark and Kenley Stewart held off Abby Arter and Morgan Dyck 7-4 in the tiebreaker to claim the court and the team win.
Tate Cowan and Abby Morehead beat Jaycie Thomas and Danielle Schuman one and three on the other doubles court. Kiah Farrington claimed the third win, shutting out Kylie Fugett at No. 1 singles.
Abbi Frank beat Casey Yankosky four and zero, and Anna Arter beat Kaitlynn Jackson one and three for the two Whitko triumphs.
JV courts went 5-0 in favor of Wawasee, Ella Beezley, Rylee Firestone and Mya Taylor all getting singles wins for the Lady Warriors.
Penn 4, NorthWood 1
NorthWood (7-5) wasn’t able to hang with state-ranked Penn Monday in its regular season finale.
The two dubs team of Paige Henschen and Kate Stillson drew the lone point for the Panthers, winning 6-3, 6-4 against Clarissa Schmidt and Maren Woelfer. Otherwise it was straight sets for the Kingsmen.
Jamie Hurst, Mandy Baker and Sophia Pischalko gave up just nine games to the trio of Gabriella Umbower, Britton Jesse and Ashlyn Feller. Emery Porter and Amy Adams fell four and one to Marley Kryder and Meely Langfeldt at one doubles.
Penn went 10-3 in the JV courts to conclude play.
