PIERCETON — A Fort Wayne man was recently arrested after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of 18 grams of methamphetamine.
Bryan Gene Rice, 38, 2502 Oakridge Road, Fort Wayne, was booked for dealing in methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On May 7, a Pierceton Police officer noticed a vehicle traveling near CR 150N and SR 13. The vehicle crossed the center line twice, resulting in the officer pulling the driver over.
According to court documents, the officer identified the driver as Rice, who was exhibiting nervous behavior. Due to his behavior, the officer had Rice exit his vehicle.
As Rice was exiting the vehicle, the officer noticed a glass smoking device with residue on the driver’s side floorboard. The officer then searched the vehicle and found a bag containing about 18 grams of methamphetamine.
Rice told the officer he had just purchased the methamphetamine from an individual in Fort Wayne and was traveling to a location to split the methamphetamine with a woman.
Rice said he paid $300 for the methamphetamine and admitted to using and selling the drug in the past.
He has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. Rice has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. June 10.
