Alberta Denny
Alberta Denny, 68, of Claypool, Ind., went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:40 p.m. Thursday June 7, 2012, at her residence.
On Nov. 7, 1943, Alberta was born to Lowell and Inez (Miller) Pontius in Warsaw. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County residing in Claypool, and a graduate of Claypool High School. On May 23, 1961, she married Jerry Denny in Wise, Va., he survives. Alberta enjoyed being a homemaker and grandmother. She loved to play bingo at the Silver Lake Lion’s Club.
Alberta attended the Warsaw Community Church in Warsaw.
Alberta is survived by her husband: Jerry, Claypool; a daughter: Shanna Baker (Tony), Warsaw; a son: Shane Denny (and companion Laurie Bowyer), Akron, Ind.; two sisters: Connie Allen, Elkhart, Ind.; and Deanie Allen, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Stacy Denny, Sherise Denny, Shane Denny II, Chelsae Culp, Cassi and Jacob Baker; one great-granddaughter: Ella Cooke; and mini dachshund: Chloe.
Alberta was preceded in death by her mother and father, and a son: Alan Denny.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Services for Alberta will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the funeral home. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
The family has asked for memorials to be made out to the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund in care of the K-21 Health Foundation, 2170 North Pointe Dr., Warsaw, IN 46580.
