Alberta L. Hardin
Alberta L. Hardin, 87, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her home.
She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Cuzco, Ind., to Raleigh and Anna Joyce (Collins) Hilton. She graduated in 1942 from Cuzco High School and on June 20, 1942, in French Lick, Ind., she married Ollie Hardin Jr., who preceded her on May 7, 1998.
She moved to the North Webster area 55 years ago from Pendleton, Ind., and formerly worked at the M & M Restaurant in North Webster where she was in charge of the dessert and salad bar for nearly 30 years.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Cuzco, American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster and she formerly attended the United Methodist Church in North Webster.
She is survived by two daughters: Ruth (Jack) Chestnut, Griffith, Ind.; and Judith Cullers, North Webster; a son: Steve (Wahnema) Hardin, Warsaw; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Lana Sue Walker, Bedford, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister: Doris Cundiff; a brother: Clifton Hilton; and two infant brothers.
Gravesides services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at North Webster Cemetery, SR 13, North Webster, with granddaughter, Elyse Hardin officiating.
