Sandra Kay Gray, 84, Warsaw, went home to be with the Lord at 10:38 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1936, in Akron, to Evelyn Cedonia (Kuhn) Krieg and Dale William Krieg. 

She was a 1954 graduate of Akron High School in Akron, and lived in Kosciusko County for the past 44 years. She had her hands full raising six children and working full-time jobs outside the home. She worked for a number of years at Gatke’s, Chambers Electronics in Akron, and later she was a familiar face working at Kroger in Warsaw as a cashier. She was a proud Avon representative for 20 years, a member of Life Changes Book Club, and a past president of the Home Ec Club in Mentone.

She was also a caregiver for Seasons Home Care in Warsaw. She loved being the organist at Akron Church of God and worshiping through her gift of music. She did so much for everyone else, putting the needs of others first and providing for her family. Her heart always had room to give more and she will be dearly missed. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Doug (Barbara) Jordan, Warsaw; Kevin (Alicia) Gray, Middlebury; step-son: Melvin Jordan, Jr., California; three daughters: Sherry Gray, Elkhart; Lori Haddan, Kingman, Ariz.; Teri Jo Smith, Warsaw; and her step-daughter: Susan Thomas, Warsaw. Also surviving are her 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and her brother: Stephen (Nancy) Kreig, Beaver Dam. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bill in 1996; and her brother, Kenton Krieg in 2021.           

Sandra’s life will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, 744 S. CR 325E, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor John B. Lowe. She will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
