WARSAW — There are all sorts of activities going on this weekend related to the Fourth of July.

Here is a recap of what’s scheduled:

Warsaw

Warsaw’s First Friday includes the theme, “Celebrating Our Local Heroes” and is 5-9 p.m. Friday, July 2.

A hometown heroes ceremony is at 6 p.m. The event includes a cookout with free food and homemade ice cream.

Winona Lake

The My Team Triumph Firecracker 5K starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at Winona Lake Limitless Park. People with and without special needs are welcome to participate. Registration ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, June 30. To register, click here.

The town’s parade is at 6 p.m. Saturday with the theme of “Past, Present & Future.” Parade lineup is at 5:15 p.m. with awards at 6:30 p.m.

There will be a live DJ and food for sale at Winona Lake Limitless Park throughout the evening.

The Symphony of the Lakes’ “Salute to America” concert starts at 8 p.m. Saturday on the Tabernacle Lawn.

That will be followed by the fireworks at 10 p.m.

The Winona Lake Flotilla with the theme of “Celebrating the Red, White, & Blue,” will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 4. The lineup for that begins at 4:30 p.m. at Winona Lake Beach. Participants are asked to preregister at the Winona Lake Town Office.

North Webster

A free concert is 7 p.m. Friday, July 2, at North Webster Public Park. The Olson Twins are performing.

A hot dog boat will be on Irish Lake in front of 50 EMS B40F Lane from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3. People should look for the hot dog boat banner. It’s hosted by the Barbee Lakes Property Owners Association.

The Webster Lake Ski Bees show is on Webster Lake at 6 p.m. Saturday. People may view it from the North Webster Town Park. A goodwill donation will be taken.

The Lake Tippecanoe Flotilla is 1 p.m. Saturday.

Fireworks are at dusk Saturday at Webster Lake, Lake Tippecanoe and Sechrist Lake. The rain date for Webster Lake is Saturday, July 10.

The Webster Lake boat-in is at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 4, at Epworth Forest Beach on the north shore of Webster Lake.

The Tippecanoe Lake boat-in at Patona Bay is 8:30-9 a.m. Sunday.

Syracuse

The Turkey Creek Fire Territory’s chicken and pork chop barbecue with sweet corn is 10 a.m. until sold-out on Saturday, July 3. It’s to be served drive-thru at Fire Station 1, 402 Huntington St.

The Wawasee Flotilla on Lake Wawasee starts at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Dewart Lake Flotilla starts at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Lake Wawasee fireworks are at dusk on Saturday.

The Dewart Lake Fireworks are at dusk on Saturday.

The Flotilla Road Race at Lakeside Park starts at 8 a.m. Sunday.

The Lakes Area Community Band performs starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Park.

The Syracuse Lake Fireworks are at dusk on Sunday.

Chapman Lake

Chapman Lake has a variety of activities.

Its parade “Salute to the American Farmer” is Friday, July 2. The lineup will start at the Chapman Lake Clubhouse at 7 p.m., with the parade starting at 8 p.m. and travel Chapman Lake Drive from CR 300N to 450N.

Entrants are encouraged to decorate their golf carts, UTVs, ATVs and trailers with the emphasis of honoring the American Farmer. Classic cars and tractors are welcome. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Place winners and fourth, fifth and sixth place will receive a gift.

An all-you-can-eat pancake, egg and sausage breakfast is 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the Chapman Lake Conservation Clubhouse.

The lake’s fireworks are set for dusk or 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. The rain date is Sunday, July 4.

Etna Green

The town’s events start with parade lineup at the fire station at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3. The parade starts at 11 a.m. with the National Anthem.

Fireworks are at 10 p.m. that night at the city park

Akron

The main events for Akron’s 4th of July Festival, themed, “Together, We Rise,” are on Sunday, July 4. The parade is at 2 p.m. Fireworks, sponsored by the Henry Township Fire Department, are at 10 p.m. at Pike Memorial Park.

North Manchester

Manchester University, Manchester Community Schools and the town of North Manchester present the 2021 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display at Manchester High School on Saturday, July 3.

The rain date is July 4.

The free celebration kicks off at 7 p.m. with the Manchester Civic Band. Families and individuals are encouraged to come early to find a spot. Lawn chairs or blankets will make viewing more comfortable.

Parking is available at Manchester High School, the Manchester Administrative Building and Manchester Recreation Association lots.

The North Manchester Fire Department will light up the sky with fireworks over the high school baseball field about 10 p.m.

For the safety of guests, no alcohol, sparklers or personal fireworks are permitted.

Roann

Roann’s celebration starts with townwide garage and rummage sales on Friday, July 2, and Saturday, July 3.

Breakfast on the Bridge is 7-10 a.m. Saturday. The costs are: $7 for ages 13 and older; $3 for ages 4-12; and free for those age 3 and younger.

The Antique Tractor Pull starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pull Field.

The Lions Club will have concessions at Pull Field 3:30-8 p.m. Saturday.

Horse Pull is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday at Pull Field.

Fireworks are 9 p.m. Saturday.

Rochester

Rochester’s fireworks, sponsored by American Legion Post 36, start at dusk on Monday, July 5.
