Warsaw Experiences Sewer Overflow
The City of Warsaw experienced a Combined Sewer Overflow that began at 2:30 a.m. and ended at 7 a.m. today according to Brian Davison, utility manager for the City of Warsaw.
The overflow was due to the large volume of rain, many communities around the state are experiencing the same problem.
The city’s CSO storage tanks were filled to contain as much of the rainfall as possible.
People should avoid direct contact with Walnut Creek and the Tippecanoe River downstream of Warsaw for the next 48 hours. It has been almost 3 years since Warsaw’s last overflow.
