Area Accident Reports
Elkhart Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Saturday, June 1, 3:09 p.m. U.S. 6 and CR 29, north of Syracuse. Drivers: Phillip West, 19, Syracuse; Sandra Donat, 67, Rome City; Nicholas Bradley, 31, Syracuse; Michael Weaver, 21, Syracuse. Injured: Weaver complained of pain to the neck; Ayla Smith, 19, Syracuse, passenger in Weaver’s vehicle complained of pain to the neck and head. All were transported to IU Health-Goshen Hospital. Amanda Pavel, 19, North Webster, passenger in West’s vehicle complained of pain to the knee. West, northbound, drove into the pat of Donat’s wetbound, vehicle which then struck the stopped Weaver vehicle, southbound waiting to turn. Weaver’s vehicle then struck the Bradley vehicle which was stopped also waiting to turn. West was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, June 2, 10:10 a.m. South Detroit and East Center streets. Drivers: Shirley L. Steele, 85, Behlman Drive, Warsaw; and Tammy J. Rockey, 53, West Main Street, Warsaw. Steele was westbound in an alley and pulled half way onto Detroit Street, then backed up to avoid oncoming traffic and backed into Rockey’s vehicle. Damages: less than $1,000
Sunday, June 2, 3:31 a.m. 1510 Ranch Rd., Warsaw. Driver: Jesus V. Centeno, 22, Academy Court, Warsaw. Centeno was southbound on Ranch Road when he lost control on a turn and struck a utility pole and damaged the yard at 1510 Ranch Rd. Centeno was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, June 1, 3:20 p.m. East Center Street and North Park Avenue. Drivers: Jacob D. Anderson, 20, Pine Mills Drive, Warsaw; and Patrick S. Buchanan, 52, West Center Street, Warsaw. Anderson was pulling out into traffic from Park Avenue and failed to see the Buchanan vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, June 2, 4:01 a.m. South Morgan and East Monroe streets. Drivers: Amber D. See, 23, North Wood Drive, Rochester; and Eric R. Cody, 25, North Franklin Street, Mentone. See was eastbound on Monroe Street and stopped at the stop sign, but failed to see Cody’s approaching vehicle and pulled into its path. Damages: up to $10,000
