Pierceton Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Pierceton man was arrested after allegedly battering a woman and injuring her face.
Drent Byron Reynolds, 45, 6179 E. CR 400S, Pierceton, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 25, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy went to a location regarding a domestic battery report. Upon arrival, the officer met with a woman who spoke about the incident.
According to court documents, the woman said on June 24, Reynolds came to her home and convinced her to have dinner with him. At that time, she allowed him into her residence. The woman later attempted to get Reynolds to leave on June 25; however, he refused. While she tried to make him leave, Reynolds allegedly grabbed the woman’s face and threw her onto the ground, breaking a nearby flowerpot and causing injury to her face.
The injury left a bloodstain on the residence’s carpet. Reynolds attempted to clean the bloodstain and left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The woman said Reynolds had battered her in the past. The officer noticed the woman had a swollen lip and a laceration. He also noticed the broken flowerpot and a bloodstain.
Officers went to Reynolds’ home and arrested him. In an interview, Reynolds claimed he attempted to leave the woman’s residence but that she punched him in the nose when he tried to leave. The officer did not notice any injuries on Reynolds’ face or nose.
Reynolds was released on bond in this case on July 29.
