WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Schools’ Board of Trustees meeting set for this evening at the school district’s central office has changed locations.
The board’s special meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Washington STEM Academy gym.
According to WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert, the meeting is regarding Governor Eric Holcomb’s recent executive order. The order discusses further continuation of limited provisions to address the impact and spread of COVID-19. Part of the order focuses on K-12 educational institutions and childcare facilities.
“Local school boards and/or the relevant governing bodies of all public and private K-12 educational institutions and childcare facilities are responsible for implementing local measures and restrictions to address the impact and spread of COVID-19 in their buildings, facilities and grounds,” reads the order. “These restrictions and measures may be more restrictive, but not less restrictive, than required by statute, executive orders, local ordinances and directives, and state or local health orders.”
The order also addresses modification of quarantine requirements for close contacts in K-12 educational institutions and childcare facilities. Gov. Holcomb directed the Indiana Department of Health commissioner to evaluate and modify quarantine provisions for those who are close contacts of a COVID-19 infected person in K-12 educational institutions and childcare facilities.
