Warsaw Man Arrested On Eight Charges
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested on two drug cases, one of which involved dealing methamphetamine to undercover officers.
In the first case, Alfred Walter Paul McDonald, 55, 602 S. McClellan St., Warsaw, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; dealing methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 3 felony; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony. McDonald is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a level 4 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony.
Sometime in October, Kosciusko County’s NET43 Drug Task Force made a controlled purchase of 2.37 grams of methamphetamine from McDonald.
On Oct. 5, NET43 executed a search warrant at McDonald’s residence where they found drug paraphernalia that tested positive for methamphetamine, three firearms, baggies, and ammunition.
While speaking with officers at his home, McDonald admitted to dealing methamphetamine and said the guns and drugs in the residence belonged to him.
McDonald was previously convicted of dealing methamphetamine in 2012 in Kosciusko Circuit Court. Because of this case, McDonald is classified as a serious violent felon and should not be in possession of a firearm.
He is currently on pretrial releases in a Level 2 felony drug dealing case and Level 3 felony methamphetamine possession case.
McDonald was arrested on the two October cases on Oct. 5.
