Chester Scott Craig
Chester Scott Craig, 83, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, in his residence.
On April 20, 1930, he was born in Pierceton, Ind., to Leroy and Beatrice (Horne) Craig. He married Dorothy June Hunter on Oct. 23, 1960, whom preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 2009.
A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he retired after more than 50 years in the trucking industry. He was a Korean War veteran and a lifetime member of American Legion Post #258, Pierceton where he held offices of Post Commander, Adjunct and member. He was also a member of the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars and the Moose. Chester was fond of fishing and his grandchildren.
Surviving are five children: Kenneth E. Craig and family, Warsaw; Victoria R. Reiter and family, Warsaw; Davis S. Craig and family, Warsaw; Priscilla M. King and family, Wabash, Ind.; and Larry W. Craig, Washington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews: John L. Craig and family; and Terry W. Craig and family, both from Warsaw.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother and a sister.
No visitation is planned. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with Pastor Bert Pauluhn officiating.
