WINONA LAKE – Two members of Grace’s men’s soccer team were honored for their performance following the Lancers’ two-win week.

Matteo Conci was named the NCCAA National Defender of the Week and the Crossroads League Defender of the Week. Felipe Gruber was the league’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Conci went 2-0 this week for the Lancers. He made six saves in a 3-2 win at Goshen then recorded a shutout against Bethel, who was leading the league in scoring at the time.

Gruber scored a goal in each of Grace’s wins this week, including the upset of the Pilots (receiving votes in the NAIA).

The Lancers are the hottest team in the league, winners of three straight. Grace is alone in second place in the league standings with three matches remaining in the regular season.

Grace’s only match this week is at home on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Taylor. The match will also be Senior Night to honor the graduating class.
