Weed Wrangle Volunteer Workday Saturday, Oct. 23
News Release
ROCHESTER — The Miami and Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation Districts will be hosting a Weed Wrangle volunteer workday from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 23.
The event will be held at the Miami/Fulton county line on the Nickel Plate Trail, 4910 E. 400S, Rochester.
The North American wild bird population has lost 2.9 million birds since 1970 and native plants directly tie into their survival. This is one reason why the SWCD is planning to wrangle invasive weeds.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear long-sleeved shirts and closed-toe shoes. They should also bring work gloves and tools No chain saws.
