Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 2:35 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, North SR 13, south of East CR 300N, Pierceton. Driver: Jodi L. Lozano, 55, North CR 575E, Warsaw. Lozano was traveling northbound on North SR 13 in the area south of East CR 300N, Pierceton, when her vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, West US 30, east of North CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Judy M. Sekera-Kozlowski, 67, Bowlander Way, Fort Wayne. Sekera-Kozlowski was traveling eastbound on West US 30 in the area of North CR 650W, Warsaw, when her vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 5:16 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, North Old SR 15, north of East CR 575N, Leesburg. Driver: Lucas V. Bladimiro, 34, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Bladimiro was traveling northbound on Old SR 15 in the area of East CR 575N, Leesburg. His vehicle hit a trailer that was being pulled by another vehicle and left the road. Bladimiro tried to leave the scene. He has no license and has never obtained one. Charges were filed to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, West US 30, west of North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Conner D. Lett, 23, Stateline Road South, Richmond; and Andrea L. Bottomley, 26, South Main Street, Bourbon. Lett was traveling eastbound on West US 30, west of North SR 19, Etna Green. His vehicle hit Bottomley’s just before the lane restriction for a construction zone. Lett said there was a glare from the sun as he was driving and he didn’t see the construction signs or Bottomley’s vehicle that was slowing down for the construction zone. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 6:29 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, South SR 13, north of East CR 360S, Pierceton. Driver: Shawn D. Elder, 28, East US 30, Pierceton. Elder was traveling northbound on SR 13, when his vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 8:42 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, US 30, west of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Brett A. Kreft, 29, West Monoquet Road, Warsaw. Kreft was traveling westbound on US 30 in the area of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton, when his vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 8:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, North CR 600E, north of East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: Cameron M. Harness, 18, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Harness was traveling northbound on CR 600E, Pierceton, when his vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, West Crystal Flash Road east of North Blaine Street, North Webster. Driver: Terryl L. Scott, 57, East Greenhaus Drive, Syracuse. Scott’s vehicle drove off the roadway into a ditch where a creek runs under a bridge. She said she was having low blood sugar and was taking medication at the time of the crash. She said she had just left the doctor’s office. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 5:23 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 100 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. Driver: Sarah R. Ogden, 41, Sharon Street, Winona Lake. Ogden was traveling northbound through the parking lot of CVS. When she attempted to turn right in the east direction, she misjudged the distance between her vehicle and another one. Her vehicle hit the other one. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 4:46 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, SR 15, south of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Preston L. Kohler, 17, South Washington Street, Warsaw; Jordan C. Fresh, 21, West Fourth Street, Rochester; and Nicole D. Jones, 31, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Kohler was traveling northbound on North Detroit Street, Warsaw. The three vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, South SR 15 and Kincaide Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Grant M. Cook, 16, East Old Road 30, Warsaw; Jaxson C. Walters, 16, South Magee Road, Warsaw; and Kylee R. Heavilin, 24, South CR 700W, North Judson. Cook was traveling southbound on SR 15 approaching the intersection of Kincaide Street, Warsaw. Cook said he was following Walters’ vehicle, which stopped abruptly in front of him due to traffic in front of Walters’ vehicle stopping abruptly. Cook slammed on his brakes, but that caused his vehicle to slide on the roadway, causing it to hit Walters’ vehicle. That caused Walters’ vehicle to hit Heavilin’s. Damage: Up to $50,000.
- 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, East Center Street and North Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Johnson M. Estep, 38, South CR 500W, Columbia City; and Sai S. Rallapati, 29, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. Estep was traveling eastbound on East Center Street just east of the intersection of North Lincoln Street, Warsaw. While traveling eastbound, he looked down to adjust the heat in his vehicle. When he looked back up, Rallapati was stopped in traffic in front of him. Estep said he tried to swerve to miss Rallapati’s vehicle. However, he was unable to and hit Rallapati’s vehicle with his. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, US 30 East, Warsaw. Drivers: Brenton A. Rose II, 38, West Markland Ave., Kokomo; and Todd E. Dierks, 52, North CR 300E, North Manchester. Rose was traveling from SR 15 on ramp to head eastbound onto US 30 E, Warsaw. He was traveling behind Dierks’ vehicle. Rose said there was heavy traffic on US 30. As he was approaching the top of the ramp to merge onto US 30 E, he was looking back over his left shoulder checking on coming traffic to the west. He said he wasn’t paying attention to Dierks’ vehicle and ran into the back of its hitch with his vehicle. Damage: Up to $1,000.
- 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Phillip G. Routh, 79, East Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Gaylen D. Hinen, 85, North Lane Court, Columbia City. Routh was traveling eastbound on US 30, approaching the intersection of Parker Street, Warsaw. When he was approaching Hinen’s vehicle, which was in the left turn lane in front of him, he tried to hit his brakes. The brake pedal malfunctioned, and his vehicle hit Hinen’s. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 12:32 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, East Jefferson Street and South McKinley Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Katrina M. Lewis, 45, West CR 200N, Warsaw; and Becky K. Weimer, 58, Pikeview Drive, Warsaw. Lewis was traveling southbound on South McKinley Street approaching the intersection of East Jefferson Street, Warsaw. She said she didn’t see the stop sign for southbound traffic and proceeded into the intersection. Her vehicle hit Weimer’s, which was traveling eastbound on East Jefferson Street. Lewis complained of knee pain. Weimer complained of pain in her chest (possible broken ribs) and was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 7:24 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, North Parker Street and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Rodney R. Emerick, 48, North SR 15, North Manchester; and Jeffrey A. Gill, 65, Winona Lake. Emerick’s vehicle hit Gill’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
