Kosciusko Reports Four New COVID-19 Deaths

WARSAW — Since Nov. 24, Kosciusko County has reported four new COVID-19 deaths. This brings the county to 166 deaths and 14,118 positive cases, which is up from 13,763 reported on Nov. 24.
Wabash County recently reported two new COVID-19 deaths. This brings the county to 111 deaths and 6,137 positive cases.
The state recorded 63 new deaths over a four-day period ending on Nov. 30, bringing the total COVID death count in Indiana to 17,033.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana continues to rise, with anywhere from 1,200 to 6,100 new cases being reported daily. According to the Indiana Department of Health, 6,160 new cases were reported on Tuesday, Nov. 30. This is the highest the daily statewide case number has been since January of this year.
Fulton County has moved into the “red” category this week, with a 16.2% positivity rate. Elkhart, Wabash, and Whitley Counties are still in the “red” category.
Kosciusko and Marshall Counties remain in the “orange” category.
Indiana Department of Health relies on a color-coded county map that measures percent positivity and new cases per 100,000 residents. The baseline for red is 15%.
More than 30,600 people in Kosciusko County have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
More than 3,442,000 Hoosiers are considered to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. According to statewide demographics, about 52% of those fully vaccinated are individuals who are 50 and older. About 53% of people fully vaccinated are female.
Statewide, the IDH website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 17,033.
The total positive number of reported COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 1,107,189. More than 15,475,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Since the pandemic began, locally, Fulton County has reported 3,616 positive cases and Whitley County has reported 6,514 positive cases, which is up from 6,311 reported on Nov. 24. Marshall County has reported 9,002 positive cases, which is up from 8,792 reported last week; Noble County has reported 9,181 positive cases, which is up from 8,921; and Elkhart County has 39,818, which is up from 39,011.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 71,865 positive cases, which is up from 70,517; Allen County has 66,280 positive cases, which is up from 64,347; and St. Joseph County has 49,217 positive cases, which is up from 48,135.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 782,000 people in the United States have died due to COVID-19.
