Tyson Wheeler Named North Webster Library Executive Director

NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Community Public Library Board of Trustees announces the appointment of Tyson Wheeler as executive director effective Jan. 3.
Wheeler replaces Heather Barron who has resigned.
Wheeler comes from Tipton County Public Library where he served as public services manager, a position he has held since 2020. Prior to that he served as public services librarian. Other library experience includes information services librarian at Anderson Public Library for four years and internship at Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Prior to his library career, he was a career firefighter for Elwood Fire Department in Elwood.
A native of Elwood, Wheeler holds a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis and a Bachelor of General Studies degree from Indiana University Kokomo.
“I have a passion for public libraries and feel very fortunate that I have been given the opportunity to lead North Webster Community Public Library,” stated Wheeler.
“The library board of trustees is eagerly awaiting our new executive library director to come on board in January,” said Board President Phil Metcalf. “We look forward to working with Tyson as together we move the library forward to new levels of excellence in serving our community and patrons.”
North Webster Community Public Library is located at 110 E. North St. and open to the public 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
