Church Hosts Christmas Eve-Eve Splat Experience
News Release
WINONA LAKE — Part of the Winona Lake Community Church’s celebration of the miracle of Christmas will include the Splat Experience.
It will be at the church’s traditional “Christmas Eve-Eve” service, which starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. The church is located at 902 College Avenue, Winona Lake.
Pastors Rick Hurley and Doug Lemon are especially delighted to announce that the church will be hosting Splat Experience, a Christian performance art ministry as part of this year’s worship event.
Splat Experience brings a beautiful and spiritually engaging artistic presentation of stunning canvas paintings, applied in real time with bare hands, set to stirring narrative and music. Since its launch in 2002, the ministry has performed in nearly 1,400 live venues across Asia, Europe, South America, Central America and North America, including 125 performances during two concert tours with the Grammy-winning Christian band Casting Crowns. In all, Splat Experience has been presented to an audience of nearly 1.3 million people around the globe. From the beginning, the ministry’s mission has remained the same: to encourage worship in the church and to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Winona Lake Community Church welcomes the public to attend. Pastor Lemon is particularly excited to bring Splat Experience to this year’s Christmas service.
“Since the merger of the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church and Oak Grove Community Church, our Christmas Eve-Eve service has quickly become one of our truly treasured times of worship and celebration. And to have this unique, deeply engaging and God-honoring presentation this year is something that I’m absolutely sure will be a blessing to all who are able to join us.”
Having attended prior Splat Experience performances, Lemon doesn’t hold back, saying: “This presentation quite literally takes your breath away and instills in the worshiper a deep response of awe for the person and the finished work of Christ. Don’t tell anybody, but I cry every time.”
