Milford Public Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1 to celebrate the New Year. The library will open at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3. Happy 2022. Make it a resolution to get a library card.
Holidays Around the World Virtual Program
The Milford Public Library is offering a free, virtual program for the month of December. ‘Tis the season of hilarity! When the tour guides for Worldwide Tours get separated, a worldwide adventure awaits. As they travel around the world in search of each other, the guides share holiday traditions from a wide variety of places and cultures. Learn about another culture this Christmas!

Make-n-Take Crafts Available
From Monday, Dec. 27 to Thursday, Dec. 30, join Milford Public Library in winter crafts. Come to the children’s department for a craft kit and optional snack. A great way to celebrate the end of the year.
January Lego Challenge
The January LEGO Challenge is to make a penguin. Send a picture to the email below to be considered for this month’s prize drawing. Your penguin can have a unique pose, a silly face, or anything else you want. Use your imagination. The staff is excited to see what you make. After you’ve built your penguin, submit a photo to [email protected] by Jan. 24 for a chance to win a new LEGO kit. The winner will be picked by staff vote. No library card needed. This challenge is for children ages 18 & under.
Author Highlight
Lynne Cherry, born Jan. 5, 1952, is the author and illustrator of numerous nature-themed children’s books, essays and journal articles. She’s also a film producer who has produced many short documentaries about climate change with the help of Young Voices on Climate Change, a non-profit that she is the founder and director of. With a Master of Arts in History from Yale, she has been the resident artist for Princeton, the World Wildlife Fund, Cornell, the Smithsonian Museum, and NASA. The founder and director of the Center for Children’s Environmental Literature, Cherry has focused on bringing the genre of nature writing into the mainstream. Come to the library to check out some of her books for yourself.
