Two-Day Forecast: High Winds, Big Meltdown, More Snow

WARSAW — Northern Indiana is about to experience some potentially intense weather over the next two days.
In fact, the National Weather Service has issued three different types of advisories. Those are:
- A wind advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, with winds of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 45-50 mph.
- A flood watch is in effect until Thursday night. One to two inches of rain is expected through Thursday that will result in heavy runoff from melting snow.
- A winter storm watch is in effect Thursday afternoon and evening. The region could see accumulations of three to six inches and some ice.
Wednesday will be warm with increasing chances of rain. The high will be 52 and the low will fall to 37.
Thursday’s high will be 38 before the temperature starts to fall. Rain will continue into the early afternoon. Snow, freezing rain, and sleet are possible mid-afternoon. Snowfall is expected to begin after 3 p.m.
The snow could be heavy at times. Winds will be 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New snow and sleet accumulation of one to three inches is possible.
Another one or two inches is possible at night. The low will be 11.
Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 28.
