Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, North CR 500W, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Loren D. Miller, 39, East Prairie Street, Leesburg. Miller was traveling north on North CR 500W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:37 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, North SR 15, south of South Main Street, Leesburg. Drivers: Jaime I. Triana, 29, Brookside Manor, Goshen; and Danielle K. Lonjin, 35, North Turkey Creek Road 8, Syracuse. Triana was traveling north on SR 15 when he rear-ended Lonjin’s vehicle. Triana complained of chest pain and was checked by medics at the scene. His vehicle was also towed. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:29 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, West CR 600N, near North SR 15, Leesburg. Drivers: Bruce K. Wappes, 64, East Metz Road, Hamilton; and Linda S. Carroll, 60, Taft Court, Goshen. Wappes attempted to back his vehicle to get out of the way of a semi truck that was turning onto CR 600N when he backed into Carroll’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:58 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 108 S. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Casey C. Carter, Warsaw, said her parked, unoccupied vehicle was hit by an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:53 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, Kings Highway, west of 1st Street, Winona Lake. Driver: Susan L. Wright, 41, 14th Street 2, Winona Lake. Wright was traveling east on Kings Highway when she lost control of her moped. She was ejected from her vehicle and landed on her left knee. She complained of pain and stiffness in her left knee but refused treatment. Damage under $750.
