WARSAW — Spherion Staffing & Recruiting is eager to help employers fill openings.
“If people call us and they have a major problem, we want to be the solution. They can call us in a pinch and … we can get their staff up to their need to help alleviate the issues that they’re having on their end and just create that partnership,” said the company’s Market Area Manager for the Fort Wayne, Warsaw and Decatur area Marty Pentenburg.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for the company’s location at 620 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, on Wednesday, March 30.
Pentenburg further explained that Spherion, a national company, “is a light industrial and professional placement full service agency.”
“Whether you need one person, 200 people, we’re your people,” he said.
The Warsaw office opened in January 2021.
“We have a lot of opportunity right now, specifically in Columbia City,” explained Pentenburg of why the company opened an office locally. “As we alluded to earlier, there’s a lot of orthopedic, obviously you guys know that, here in Warsaw, so that’s kind of a niche market for us that we’re trying to break into, but we also have several other local clients in the area right now.”
Pentenburg noted that the company also seeks to connect individuals to jobs.
“Any skill set, so I mean if it’s somebody who has a very specific skill set whether that be you’re some type of machine operator or you’re an accountant, it doesn’t really matter, we have a broad range of openings,” he said. “If we don’t have an opening at the time, we can source for you or sometimes we have clients that have a very specific need kind of trying to find the needle in the haystack, so when we get those people that have the specific background, we can get them placed with that client.”
He said right now there’s a lot of need to fill positions in big box warehouse companies.
“Where people are just … packaging, or they’re moving pallets or they’re sorting product … putting price tags on items that are about to go out to stores, those are really the teams that are needing the most people right now along with a very specific I guess division that’s in need right now across the country is forklift drivers,” he said. “It’s happening to us all over the state.”
