Warsaw’s Earth Day Services Begin Monday
Staff Report
WARSAW — A paper shredding event organized by the city of Warsaw is one of several services being offered this month in honor of Earth Day.
Borden Waste Away/Integra Shredding will host “shred drive day” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 18, at the Public Works Department, at 794 West Center St. City employees will load papers in totes and Integra will shred the documents on the spot, according to a news release from the city.
Also beginning Monday, the city will be picking up loose leaf yard waste piles on the resident’s trash day. Large piles of leaves can be raked to the curb or alley. Small piles will need to be bagged or boxed and will be picked up on your regular trash day.
Another event beginning Monday is the free distribution of paper lawn and leaf bags. Bags will be available for city residents to pick up at the Public Works Department, located at 794 West Center Street. Residents (IDs will be checked to verify addresses) are invited to pick up six bundles of paper lawn and leaf bags to utilize for natural debris pickup. Hours of distribution will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The city also has a wood chip giveaway beginning Monday. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through April 23. The public is invited to bring trailers, dump trucks, pickup trucks and/or small containers to West Center Street just inside Boggs Industrial Park. City employees will load the wood chips. These wood chips are brush grindings from earlier this year.
