WARSAW — The Warsaw Education Foundation has awarded the following Red Apple Grants for the Spring 2022 grant cycle.

Title: The Amazing Human Race
Synopsis: This is an assessment challenge where students apply their knowledge of natural selection to the popular game show “Amazing Race.”

Title: Adaptive Omnikin Activities for Ultimate Participation
Synopsis: Purchase eight Omnikin balls with replacement bladders to help increase engagement and participation in elementary physical education.

Title: Waders Refresh
Synopsis: Purchase of additional chest waders and dip nets for student engagement in creek explorations.

Title: Visual and Hands-on Learning for EL students
Synopsis: Learning how to read and gaining everyday vocabulary from these resources will not only benefit students’ self-esteem but also help their reading in other academic areas.

Synopsis: Use spheros to teach physics concepts to high school students.

Synopsis: Students will use weather tools to measure weather and research the different types of severe weather in the area.

Synopsis: Purchase of suture pads with real layers of skin modeled for biomedical students to learn how to suture.

Title: “U” Can Play a Ukulele
Synopsis: A class set of ukuleles and ukulele storage racks for Madison Elementary School’s music class.

Title: Technology Integration in the DLI Classroom
Synopsis: Will allow students to have an enriched language-acquisition experience by integrating more technology in lessons through interactive presentations, accessed through their iPads.

Title: Structured Literacy from the Start
Synopsis: The goal of this project is to invest in sets of decodable books and decodable resources that can be used for years to come in small group instruction and intervention with striving readers.

Title: Collecting Real World Data
Synopsis: Obtain interface devices that will allow students to obtain real world data for their experiments.

Title: 3D Printer for Science Classes
Synopsis: Integrating a 3D printer into all science classes offered through WCHS to increase the use of technology in the classroom and provide students with unique skills that can be applied in multiple industries.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization established to support teachers and students in Warsaw Community Schools. These grants enhance the educational experience for Warsaw students. Over $11,000 was awarded this spring.

Community members can contribute to the grant fund by donating to Warsaw Education Foundation with a direct donation, by participating in the annual Community Quiz Bowl, or by honoring an educator with a donation in the fall and spring.
