PC’s For Youth Hosts Fundraising Banquet
Monika Stidham, a recent Lakeland High School graduate, will be sharing her story with PC’s For Youth at the organization’s fourth annual Fundraising Dinner Banquet on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the LaGrange American Legion.
Stidham received a computer from PC’s For Youth when she was in middle school. She needed a computer to do her school work, but didn’t have access to one since her family had recently moved.
“If I would not have received a computer from PC’s, at that time I would not have been able to do a lot of research for my classes. This would have dropped my grades,” Stidham stated when asked if she did not receive a computer from PC’s For Youth, how her education would have been impacted.
PC’s For Youth gives computers to students in middle school, high school, college and to adults trying to obtain their GED to use for educational purposes. The organization serves LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, DeKalb, Elkhart, Kosciusko and Whitley counties.
Their dinner banquet is currently the organization’s only major fundraiser and helps to purchase computer parts to refurbish donated computers, as well as other operating expenses.
“This is a great program that really helps students who may not have the capability to have a computer available in their home,” stated Stidham
