Larry D. and Hulleta (Jackson) Carey celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 17.

They were married in 1948, at the South Whitley Church of God, where they had met 14 years earlier in the primary class. They lived in South Whitley until 1952, when they moved to Warsaw.

The couple were blessed with four children: Tim (Debbie), Montrose, Colorado; Lara Lee (Rod) Rockefeller, Plymouth, Ind.; Cathy (Mike) Metzger, Warsaw, Ind.; and Judy (Tom) VanMeter, North Webster, Ind.

Larry worked in the construction business and Hulleta taught at Lincoln Elementary School. They love and enjoy their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Careys’ children recently hosted a family reunion in their honor. Another celebration is planned in Colorado for their many family members there.
