Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 7:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, South West Channel Road, south of South Lake Shore Drive East, Warsaw. Driver: Heaven L. Ousley, 25, East CR 600S, Warsaw. Ousley said the vehicle’s accelerator malfunctioned, causing her to lose control. Her vehicle hit a parked vehicle. Ousley complained of minor pain in her left knee. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 1801 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: Robert R. Tackett, 25, Pine Mills Road, Warsaw. Tackett was moving his vehicle from a parking space when he hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 2:24 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, Shelden Street and North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Mary B. Witham, 56, East Broadway Street, Burket; and Kathy L. Miller, 58, South Jackson Street, Nappanee. Witham hit the back of Miller’s vehicle with hers. A passenger in Miller’s vehicle was checked out for neck pain. Damage: Under $750.
- 8:59 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, East US 30, east of East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: Gregory S. Wiese, 47, South Hunters Ridge, Warsaw. Wiese was traveling east on East US 30 in the right lane when his vehicle left the roadway, hitting a fence and several fence posts. Wiese told officers that he panicked and left the scene of the accident. One witness who tried to help Wiese said that Wiese had a cocky and angry attitude. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage: Up to $10,000.
