Fern Gully Antiques recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of their business opening. The store opened on Saturday, Aug. 3. The shop is owned by Helena Byrer.

“It started with a thought . . . if I had an antique shop of my own, what would I call it. The words Fern Gully wouldn’t leave me; I thought it sounded enchanting. Then one day while contemplating the purchase of a building, fate put the right people in my path that lead me to a shop in Pierceton.  Pierceton had already been established as an antique town, so it seemed like an ideal location for Fern Gully.  It took many months of working evenings and weekends to renovate the building, but with the help of family and friends, Fern Gully Antiques opened on Saturday,” stated Byrer.

The shop is heated and air conditioned with 1,600 square feet of newly-constructed display area on the first floor with plans to open a second floor in the next few years. Current inventory consists of quality antiques from the 1800’s through 1960 and is open to taking in items on consignment.

The shop is open on Saturday and Sunday from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m.
