Stephen A. Rogers
Stephen A. Rogers, 53, of North Manchester, Ind., died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, in I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.
He was born at Warsaw, Ind., on Jan. 22, 1960, to Lamar and Myra (Hover) Rogers. On Sept. 21, 1984, he married Tammy S. Hiatt.
Stephen was in industrial maintenance at the former Little Crow Co. at Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1978. He loved being a grandpa, racing and watching his son race. He enjoyed camping, was a fantastic husband, devoted father and a father to any child who entered his home.
In March 2013, Stephen was the recipient of a double lung transplant. He loved his faith and his church. He was a member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church, North Manchester and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lebanon, Ind.
He is survived by his wife; two sons: Jon (Meghan) Rogers and Joel Rogers, both of North Manchester; a daughter: Mindy Rogers, North Manchester; a grandson: Bear Rogers, North Manchester; parents: Lamar and Myra Rogers, Palmetto, Fla.; and formerly of Warsaw; two brothers: Mike Rogers, Columbia City, Ind.; and Chris (Lisa) Rogers, Cape Coral, Fla.; four sisters: Cathy (Craig) Smith, Warsaw; Laura (Jeff) Parker, Lagro, Ind.; Linda Strong, Washington; Susan (Gary) Simpson, Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at St. Robert’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the church. Father Tim Kroeger will officiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley St., North Manchester. Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to McKee Mortuary to assist the family with final expenses.
