Warsaw Man Arrested After Battering, Choking Relative
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly battering and choking a relative.
Thomas Steven Armey, 46, 2303 S. 400W, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a level 5 felony; strangulation, a level 6 felony; and invasion of privacy and domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On Oct. 25, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic complaint in Warsaw. Upon arrival, a man told the deputies he was in a verbal argument with Armey when Armey came up behind him and put his right arm around his throat.
According to court documents, the man said Armey’s actions caused him to lose consciousness. Deputies noticed red marks on the left side of the man’s neck.
The deputies later determined there was a protective order in effect to prevent Armey from contacting the man. The protective order was issued about two weeks prior to this incident.
Armey was present during the protective order hearing. The order reflects that Armey did not agree with the order’s issuance.
For this case, Armey was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 23.
