Two Arrested On Drug Charges After Overdose

WARSAW — Two people were arrested on drug charges after emergency personnel responded to a drug overdose.
Phillip Ryan Shriver, 38, 16520 Millpond Trail, Plymouth, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony.
Shauna Lynn Gibson, 33, 8936 E. 400N, Pierceton,, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Aug. 8, emergency responders were called to a Warsaw residence for a possible drug overdose. A man said he discovered Shriver unresponsive in a bathroom. Gibson was also present in the home at the time of the overdose.
According to court documents, the man said he administered Narcan to Shriver, who was revived. After being revived, Shriver threw a syringe into a garbage can. In the bathroom, local law enforcement found drug paraphernalia and bags used to distribute narcotics.
Officers later obtained a search warrant for the home and found syringes and drug paraphernalia.
Gibson admitted to owning paraphernalia found in the home and using methamphetamine.
Shriver was convicted of dealing methamphetamine in Marshall County in May 2020. He also currently has an active criminal case for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and methamphetamine possession in Kosciusko County.
For this case, Shriver was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 10, with a $15,250 surety and cash bond.
Gibson has already been arrested and has a pretrial conference on Jan. 9, 2023.
