Warsaw Schools’ Dr. David Robertson Announces Resignation
Press Release
WARSAW — In early November, Dr. David Robertson, assistant superintendent for secondary education for Warsaw Community Schools, announced his decision to pursue a new career opportunity effective in January.
Immediately, planning commenced to ensure a smooth transition.
“The decision to leave my position at Warsaw Community Schools was extremely difficult,” said Robertson. “Simply stated, my time at WCS has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life. Throughout my career, the Lord has guided my family and me along the way. He has consistently proven faithful in leading me to the classroom as a teacher, to the office as a principal, and to the district office as an assistant superintendent. Now we believe the Lord is leading our family to an incredible opportunity outside the field of education. While I am excited about opportunities to give back to our community in new and different ways, it’s important for people to understand that this opportunity was unexpected and certainly not something I was looking for. My role as assistant superintendent is very fulfilling. I want to say thank you to all of the teachers, administrators, and staff that I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my time at WCS.”
Further in his statement, Robertson thanked all the teachers, administrators and staff he has worked with during his time at WCS.
“I want to say thank you to the students and the families I’ve had the privilege of serving while at WCS,” said Robertson. “It’s been such an honor to serve you in the various roles I’ve held in our corporation.”
Dr. David Hoffert, WCS superintendent, offered his appreciation for the 19 years Robertson has given as an educational leader.
“Dave has impacted thousands of students, teachers and parents during his time as a teacher at Harrison Elementary, principal at Jefferson Elementary, and assistant superintendent with the central office,” said Hoffert. “It is unusual to have a leadership team together for nine years, and I have been blessed by his commitment to our schools. While he will be missed greatly as a close friend and colleague on our central office team, I am excited for him personally as he explores new opportunities and ways to serve our community.”
WCS’ Board of Trustees and all his colleagues wish Robertson well as he embraces the next chapter of his life. WCS administration anticipates an announcement of a replacement for Robertson’s position very soon.
