Owen Eugene Burkholder — UPDATED
Owen Eugene Burkholder, 84, went through the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2022. Born to Lois and George Burkholder, he was a lifelong resident of Warsaw. Owen was a bartender by trade and worked at the original Eagles on Center Street for many years.
An avid fisherman, Owen had many favorite fishing spots, where many bass met their fate. He loved to play cards and would never turn down a poker game. He was a great storyteller and loved to make people laugh with his jokes. He loved old westerns, with Gunsmoke being his favorite.
Surviving are his loving children, Teri Leigh Burkholder, Christina Allen, Rhonda (Terry) Doberstein, and Travis Walls. His loving sister, Barb (Charlie) Sleeth, along with his grandchildren, Joshua Geberin, Sidney (Matt) Brown, Shae (Jason) Brown, Chelsea Robison, and Hailey Charles. Along with many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lois and father George, his two sisters Mary Lou Burkholder, Sharon (Kenny) Baugher, Brother Chuck Burkholder, and a son Michael Walls.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28 2022. The receiving of family and friends will be from 3-5 p.m. with a service to follow at 5 p.m. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer will officiate the service. Special thanks to Mason’s Health Care and Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care while Owen transitioned to Heaven.
