Syracuse Public Library Announcements
The Young Adult New-book Club is getting together to paint and look at new books at 5 p.m. Sept. 3. There will be no meeting on the next scheduled time (Sept. 17). Teens are encouraged to come to make hanging whirly-whirls with abstract painting techniques. This is an opportunity to turn a 3 foot square poster-board into a 6 foot hanging mobile. A light snack is provided to any interested teen painters that want to meet other readers and hang out for a while.
Go Green for My Community
Adults are encouraged to get an early start participating in the fall reading program. Entrants receive a custom-made bookmark just for signing up. Ballots are drawn each week for unique books and bags. Adult readers should watch for their name on the winners list that is posted at the front desk at the Syracuse Library.
Google Calendar is a New Feature
The library website, www.syracuse.lib.in.us, has a new events feature. Upcoming activities are now listed on a Google Calendar. People with Gmail accounts can receive notifications but everyone is able to view the descriptions and details of programs coming to the library. The Syracuse Library can be contacted by phone at 574-457-3022.
