Whitko Career Students Tour Fox Products

LARWILL — Whitko Career Academy welding and precision machining students recently toured Fox Products Corp. in South Whitley.
WCA and Executive/HR Assistant Jana Peters coordinated the tours. Fox Products CEO Tony Starkey and Well Being Manager Charlie Starkey welcomed the students.
Operations Manager Phil Wade then took the first student group and provided an unique view of the key mounting department and discussed the importance of craftsmanship and precision fitting within the organization.
Senior Engineer Mike Baker took a second group through the CNC machining facilities and explained the role of both traditional and advanced manufacturing processes as they apply to oboe/English horn production. Meanwhile, engineer David Harris led a group of students to the product finishing department and presented about the importance of it.
Vice President of Operations Max Elder guided a fourth group through the wood processing department while explaining the intricacies of wood selection and its development over multiple years at the facility to ensure the customer receives the highest quality product available anywhere in the world.
The tours concluded in the employee break room with a question and answer session.
