MENTONE — A Bremen man was recently arrested after allegedly threatening and battering a woman in Mentone.
Chad Joseph Hartsell, 41, 832 N. SR 331, Bremen, is charged with intimidation and domestic battery, both level 6 felonies.
On Feb. 4, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy met with a woman regarding a domestic incident in Mentone. The deputy noticed the woman’s right eye was red and swollen.
According to court documents, on Feb. 3, Hartsell became verbally aggressive with the woman and hit her twice on the right side of her face with a bra. He also punched her, which caused the injury to the woman’s right eye.
Hartsell also threatened the woman and threatened to damage her computer.
The woman left the residence on Feb. 4 and received a text from Hartsell, who told her to stop talking about the altercation because it is in the past.
When the deputy called Hartsell and identified himself, Hartsell hung up on him. The deputy attempted calling Hartsell two more times, but Hartsell did not answer the phone.
Hartsell was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail March 8, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
