Bremen Fires Away On Whitko
SOUTH WHITLEY – Bremen came out firing in the girls soccer matchup at Whitko Tuesday night and came through with a 5-1 victory.
A goal right out of the gate by Alexis Jennings had the visiting Lions up 1-0, and after avoiding a missed penalty kick by Bridgette Thomson in the 13th minute, Bremen would tack on two more goals – one by Jennings and another from Jasmine Schafer just before the half – to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Whitko would find the scoreboard when Ellyana Blue would beat Regan Murphy in the 71st for her third goal of the season, on an assist by Heather Bryan, but it was a little too late. Bremen had already held a 4-0 lead before the Blue tally as Katelyn Aguayo found the net. Kylie Murphy registered the final goal in the last minute of the match.
Bremen outshot Whitko 18-7, forcing Whitko keeper Jordan Hall to make 13 saves.
Bremen’s JV scored right off the bat and made it hold up in a 1-0 win over Whitko.
Whitko moves to 1-2-2 on the season with Tuesday’s loss and will look to re-enter the win column as it will take part in the Manchester Invitational Saturday in North Manchester.
