WARSAW — A Warsaw woman is facing two domestic battery charges after she allegedly punched a man in the face.
Jennifer Annette Bartz, 45, 1508 Tippecanoe Drive Apartment D-1, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on April 1, a Winona Lake police officer responded to a domestic dispute.
He spoke with Bartz, who said she and a man were arguing and the man threatened to stab her while holding a knife.
The man told the officer the two had been drinking and arguing when Bartz punched him in the face. The officer saw two swollen red marks under the man’s eyes.
The man also said he never had a knife and Bartz said she was going to have her friends mess with him.
The officer spoke again with Bartz, who said she didn’t hit the man or know why his face was bruised.
Bartz was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 1 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
