MENTONE — A Mentone woman was recently arrested on multiple charges after an officer found her driving under the influence with a child in her vehicle.
Amy Jo Mullins, 36, 4961 S. On Oct. 22, 2022, a Mentone Police officer pulled over a speeding vehicle on SR 25 and identified its driver as Mullins. A child was also in Mullins’ vehicle.
According to court documents, while speaking with Mullins, the officer smelled marijuana. Mullins admitted to having a partial burnt marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle.
One of Mullins’ relatives arrived at the scene to take custody of the child and Mullins told the child to take her purse. When the officer went to retrieve the purse, Mullins allegedly yelled at the child to not give the officer her purse.
