Larry Ray Friend, 72, Columbia City, died at 3:03 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1950. On April 19, 1971, he married Shirley Carroll, who survives.

He also is survived by his children, Rob Friend, Kendallville, and Milissa (Michael) Berdette, Kimmell; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Tom (Sonya) Friend and Kathy (Rodney Geisleman) Streby, both of Columbia City; and half-brother Theron Overman, Fort Wayne.
