Ruth L. Stauffer Metzger, 92, Columbia City, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at home.

She was born Aug. 19, 1930. On June 17, 1950, she married George D. Stauffer, who preceded her in death in 1988. On Aug. 18, 1991, she married Loren R. Metzger, who preceded her in death in 2016.

She is survived by her children, Dianne M. Stangland and Dana R. (Marcia) Stauffer, both of Columbia City; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; siblings, Richard Thiele, Austin, Ind., Edward Thiele, Ossian, Martha (Norv) Bauermeister, Ossian, Kenneth (Cindy) Thiele, Alexandria, Minn., Mary Bearman, Fort Wayne, and Donald (Vicky) Thiele, Fort Wayne.
