Terry Haab
Terry Haab, 73, of Dewart Lake (Milford, Ind.) and Bonita Springs, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital from complications during a routine surgical procedure.
Terry was born on Sept. 22, 1939, in Warsaw, Ind., to George and Pearl Haab, both of whom have preceded him in death. On Dec. 17, 1961, he married Lorelei Foyle in Worth, Ill., after which they lived in Orland Park, Ill., where they enjoyed raising their two daughters until 1980 when they moved to Dewart Lake. Their daughters, Robin (Tim) Stiffler and Debbie (Dave) Strombeck still live with their husbands in the area.
Terry enjoyed helping those around him – whether he was helping someone roof their house, fix their plumbing, or where he seemed to be most at home, digging with his backhoe. He was always helping and always had a smile on his face.
In 2003, Terry retired from a long career that included farming, well drilling, building, plumbing and backhoe work. During his retirement, he enjoyed vacationing in Florida where he spent many hours fishing.
Terry was not only a loving husband and father, but also an amazing grandfather to his two grandkids.
He is survived by his wife: Lorelei Haab, Dewart Lake; two daughters: Robin (Tim) Stiffler and Debbie (Dave) Strombeck; and two grandchildren: Renee Stiffler Case and Mikey Stiffler.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, with the funeral service to follow at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice or the donor’s choice in care of Mishler Funeral Home.
