Whitko Sports Wrap – Sept. 16
The Whitko boys’ tennis team blanked host Central Noble 5-0 Monday.
Tyler Baugher led the way for the Wildcats with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Blake Castle posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and Cole Bechtold completed the sweep by winning 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 for Whitko.
The team of Reed Brace and Bailey Platt rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Whitko No. 2 team of Alex Bechtold and Alex Robbins rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win to complete the shutout.
Wildcats Lose Soccer Contest
Central Noble edged past host Whitko 2-1 in boys’ soccer action Monday.
Devin Gogan tallied the lone goal for the Wildcats.
Alex Cole had a goal and Daniel Tieman had the game winner in the second half for Central Noble.
Whitko, 0-7, hosts Manchester Wednesday.
Volleyball Team Falls To Rochester
The Whitko volleyball team lost a 3-0 final at Rochester in league play Monday evening.
The host Zebras took the Three Rivers Conference clash 25-16, 25-21, 25-13.
Whitney Hobbs had five kills for the Wildcats. Maddie Gawthrop had two aces and Elaine Warner 10 assists for Whitko.
Whitko hosts Southwood in TRC action Thursday night.
